What is an eSIM? A traveler's guide

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a SIM card that's built into your phone. Instead of swapping a piece of plastic, you download your plan — usually by scanning a QR code — and you're connected in minutes.

How do I know my phone supports it?

Dial *#06# — if you see an EID number, your phone is eSIM-capable. Most phones from 2018 onward (iPhone XS+, Pixel 3+, Galaxy S20+) qualify. The phone must also be carrier-unlocked.

How installation works

Buy a plan for your destination.
Scan the QR code we email you (takes ~2 minutes, do it over Wi-Fi before you fly).
