Is your iPhone eSIM-compatible?

Compatible models

iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and newer iPhone models support eSIM, subject to regional and carrier restrictions. iPhone SE (2nd generation) and newer also support eSIM. Check Apple’s current technical specifications for your exact model and region.

Check carrier unlock

Open Settings → General → About and check Carrier Lock. It should say “No SIM restrictions”. If it does not, contact your carrier before buying.

Check mobile data settings

After installation, select the travel eSIM for mobile data. When your plan requires it, enable Data Roaming for that line and keep your primary line’s roaming off to avoid charges.

If installation fails

Confirm the phone is unlocked, connected to Wi-Fi and has not already installed the QR code. If there is no data after arrival, recheck the data-line and roaming selections, then toggle Airplane Mode once.
